TAMA'S STORY IN THE USA
Hi my name is Tama, and I have been living in the states for a little over 8 months now. This has been a huge and oddly fitted experience for me, although as much as I love it here I am in the stage that I miss everything about home. But because I have changed and become a better man I'm starting to think home won't be the same.
All my life I have been a very quiet boy. I hated water when you couldn't see the bottom, I was never good at keeping a conversation, I didn't have much confidence in myself, I wasn't really good with heat and I wasn't much of a fish person. Why do I say this? Because I got sent to Texas, where everyone you meet is friendly: people wave at you when you walk by, greet you when you walk into their store, all the younger people greet elders with either sir or ma'am, people hold the door for you when you are 20 ft from the store, plus they would also hand out compliments which was a great confidence booster. In a little bit of time, that behaviour started rubbing off on me. Not only that, but Tye (my host father) is a big fishermen and so is his son Tyler, so as the months rolled by it was only natural for me to finally get used to fish. Because of them I now love hunting as well.
Although right now I am itching to get back home, I know for a fact I am going to miss this place. These months have been a blast, and I can't wait to see what's installed for the remainder of my year.
